As I need my food for hunger
and my drink to quench my thirst,
the air I breathe, my songs to sing,
I need your love the worst.
As I need my sleep to slumber,
to rest and work and play
I need, but with a passion,
to be by your side each day.
What good is it for me to see,
hear, touch, taste and smell
without your face, voice,
hands and lips
and scent I know so well?
As I need my dreams to wonder,
to soar up as a dove,
To save my soul
when I’m falling fast,
I hold on to your love
As the lightning
comes with thunder,
and the dawn awakes with dew,
so deep within,
you’re part of me.
I was surely born for you.
What good is it for me to see,
hear, touch, taste and smell
without your face, voice,
hands and lips
and scent I know so well?
What good is it for me to see,
hear, touch, taste and smell
without your face, voice,
hands and lips
and scent I know so well?
So come softly
sweet and warm my love
Let me feel your smiling face
I need
your tender words, your laugh,
Your love and warm embrace.
I need
your tender words, your laugh,
Your love and warm embrace.
The Lake Of 31 Miles
Took the 105 north out of Ottawa to Maniwaki
Turned off at Bouchette then left over le pont
Lingered a while watching the Gatineau flow
Wondering ‘where does it go?’
Cruising and taking it slow ..
.. here out in Quebec and I’ve no fear
Smiling, not even a small tear
here where creation is strong
harmony holding the song
everyone singing along
Moving on slow through dusty roads weaving and winding
Heading across to “The lake of thirty-one miles”
Sun going down – finally reaching the end
Smiling I’m greeted by friends
Looks like it’s gonna be slow ..
.. here out in Quebec and I’ve no fear
Smiling, not even a small tear
here where creation is strong
harmony holding the song
everyone singing along
Loon on the lake – Allan and Michael are swimming
Bethel and Vaughan are finishing reading their books
Linda and Gwen are winning each other at word games
We’re here in the wild but it’s so tame
Everyone’s taking it slow ..
.. here out in Quebec and I’ve no fear
Smiling, not even a small tear
here where creation is strong
harmony holding the song
everyone singing along
Content ’round the fire on the shore you can hear the lake lapping
singing our songs as we muse with the stars looking on.
Mike makes us laugh with his line in the alphabet game
for this joy and this moment we came
And dancing the fireflies glow ..
.. here out in Quebec and we’ve no fear
Smiling, not even a small tear
here where creation is strong
harmony holding the song
everyone singing along

I just love that in the evening
in the summertime
you can wait ’till past eleven
just to watch the sun go down.
Then as if the hand of God Himself
would paint the sky,
see the fiery flames around it
as it melts on the horizon –
and welcomes all the stars!
From the early morning
to the shiny moon,
daybreak and daylight
give peace and hope.
On the waves of wheat,
– yeah on the shiny sea,
sunshine and God’s rays
will help me cope.
I just love that in the morning
in the summertime,
it’s so early when the sun awakes
to warm the windowpane.
and there’s something ’bout the joy
up in that clear blue sky,
makes it easy to imagine
all of mankind’s wounds will vanish.
There’ll be a healing of the scars.
From the early morning
to the shiny moon,
daybreak and daylight
give peace and hope.
On the waves of wheat,
– yeah on the shiny sea,
sunshine and God’s rays
will help me cope.
Gonna take some time
just to enjoy the sky.
Every sunny hour
fills me more with power.
And even in the shortness
of that winter day,
there’s still brief reminder
that the sun will never frown.
Just makes it far more precious
– still in every way.
There’s hope on the horizon,
if you can keep your eyes on,
times ahead not far.
From the early morning
to the shiny moon,
daybreak and daylight
give peace and hope.
On the waves of wheat,
– yeah on the shiny sea,
sunshine and God’s rays
will help you cope.
Lullaby For Grown-ups (Tuck Me In)
(Words & Music By Brendan Vincent Owens)
Tuck me in nice ‘n’ warm,
keep me safe and cozy
I don’t feel so good today.
Tuck me in round my back
right down to my toesies.
I don’t want to work
and I don’t want to play.
Close the door, get the light
and then pull the curtain
and sit down by my side.
Today I want to hide,
while you stand guard
and make the world go away.
Tuck me in, hold me close
and then rock me slowly
until I’m sound asleep.
Tuck me in, sing a song,
sing it soft and low.
With your kind gentle voice
I’ll go under deep.
There were times
when my courage
could move a mountain.
Today it up and died
and now I need to hide
while you stand guard
and chase the world away
(Instrumental)
There were times
when my courage
could move a mountain.
Today it up and died
and now I need to hide
while you stand guard
and chase the world away
Tomorrow maybe
I will have the strength.
But don’t make me
face the world today.
Mmm
and I wont forget your kindness.
No I wont forget you came.
When you’re weak
then you will find this;
I will be there,
I will tuck you in
I will love you just the same.
Mmm
That’s nice and cosy.
